Senior DevOps / Observability Engineer (OpenTelemetry, .NET, Azure, Datadog)

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps / Observability Engineer to join a long-term international project focused on building a modern observability platform for enterprise-scale applications.

You will play a key role in implementing OpenTelemetry across distributed systems, improving monitoring capabilities, and helping engineering teams build reliable, observable production environments.

This is a hands-on engineering position for someone with deep expertise in OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, Azure monitoring, and production observability.

Business Trip

The project includes one business trip to India and/or China (approximately 10-12 days per destination).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement observability solutions using OpenTelemetry.
• Instrument .NET applications with OpenTelemetry.
• Instrument Angular frontend applications for distributed tracing.
• Implement end-to-end tracing across frontend, backend, APIs, messaging systems, and databases.
• Build and improve metrics, traces, and centralized logging.
• Configure and optimize Azure Application Insights.
• Configure and optimize Datadog monitoring.
• Create production dashboards and monitoring visualizations.
• Design alerting strategies and incident detection.
• Improve monitoring reliability, performance, and operational visibility.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers and architects.
• Help define observability standards and best practices.
• Support production troubleshooting and performance analysis.

• Share knowledge with customer engineering teams.

   

Requirements

Must have

• 5+ years of experience as DevOps, SRE, Platform, or Observability Engineer.
• Strong commercial experience with OpenTelemetry.
• Production experience instrumenting .NET applications.
• Experience instrumenting Angular applications.
• Strong knowledge of distributed tracing.
• Experience working with:

  • Monitoring solutions
• Experience troubleshooting distributed systems.
• Understanding of metrics, traces, and logs.
• Experience with cloud environments.
• Good understanding of CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication skills.
