Shopify Web Designer

About the Position

The company is seeking a design-first Shopify Designer with frontend implementation skills who enjoys creating engaging e-commerce experiences from the ground up. In this role, you'll be involved throughout the entire project lifecycle - from creating ecommerce page designs in Figma to implementing fully functional Shopify storefronts, websites, and landing pages for consumer-facing brands.

Responsibilities

• Create high-converting ecommerce page designs (including homepages, landing pages, PDPs, promotional pages, and other customer-facing experiences) and implement them in Shopify.
  Design intuitive user interfaces in Figma and bring them to life using Shopify, Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Customize, improve, and maintain Shopify themes.
• Create reusable sections, components, and content blocks using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Deliver fast, responsive, and pixel-accurate user experiences across desktop and mobile devices.
• Work closely with Product, Marketing, Growth, and Engineering teams to implement new features and user experiences.
• Investigate and resolve frontend issues while ensuring consistent behavior across modern browsers.
• Keep up with new Shopify capabilities, ecommerce best practices, frontend technologies, and AI-assisted design workflows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial experience designing ecommerce experiences and implementing them in Shopify.
• Portfolio demonstrating ecommerce page designs created by you and their implementation in Shopify.
• Strong expertise with Shopify, Liquid, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6 or newer).
• Solid experience building responsive, mobile-first interfaces.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify Online Store 2.0, including Sections, Blocks, Metafields, and Metaobjects.
• Strong understanding of UX/UI principles with experience designing conversion-focused ecommerce interfaces.
• Ability to independently create page designs in Figma and implement them in Shopify.
• Experience using Git and collaborating within modern development workflows.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects in parallel.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with Shopify Plus.
• Familiarity with Shopify Functions and Checkout Extensibility.
• Knowledge of React, Next.js, or Shopify Hydrogen.
• Experience creating advanced frontend interactions and animations using tools such as GSAP or ScrollTrigger.
• Understanding of Shopify APIs and third-party application integrations.
• Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4, Hotjar, or Microsoft Clarity.
• Experience running A/B tests and applying conversion rate optimization (CRO) practices.
• Practical experience using AI-powered creative tools for generating visual assets or videos (for example: Higgsfield, Nano Banana, ChatGPT, Midjourney, Runway, Kling, or similar solutions).
