Middle Backend Software Engineer

26 Lines Of Code  is looking for an independent Middle Backend Software Engineer who is ready to take real ownership of complex backend development — including scalable microservices, cloud infrastructure, and robust enterprise security integrations.

This role is not for a simple task-executor. We expect an engineer who can make architectural decisions, optimize system performance, and keep the backend moving forward without constant supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Own backend delivery end-to-end: design, develop, and maintain high-performance Python applications.
• Build and scale: design microservices-based system architectures and robust REST APIs.
• Manage infrastructure: containerize applications using Docker and manage deployments in Kubernetes via Helm charts.
• Leverage AWS cloud services: utilize DynamoDB, IAM, Lambda, and API Gateway effectively.
• Implement security integrations: design and support Splunk solutions (Secure Gateway, Spacebridge) and build secure SSO/MFA authentication flows (SAML 2.0, Duo).
• Collaborate efficiently: work closely with frontend engineers (React) and DevOps teams to ensure smooth integration and delivery.

• Maintain data performance: utilize Redis for caching layers, session storage, and highly available setups.

   

Requirements:

• 3+ years of professional backend development experience using Python 3.
• Proven experience with AWS (specifically DynamoDB, IAM, Lambda, and API Gateway).
• Strong proficiency in containerization and orchestration: Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Solid experience with Redis for caching and session management.
• Hands-on experience with Splunk (Dashboard Studio/Classic, Secure Gateway, HEC).
• Deep understanding of enterprise security: SAML 2.0, SSO, Active Directory integration, and MFA policies.
• Working knowledge of React to effectively collaborate with frontend engineers.

• English — Upper-Intermediate+

   

Nice to have:

• Experience with Protocol Buffers (Protobuf) for efficient data serialization.
• Knowledge of WebSocket-based communication for real-time applications.
• Familiarity with Duo Network Gateway and secure enterprise network infrastructure (DMZ architectures).

• Experience with Cisco AnyConnect NVM or Endpoint Security Analytics.
