QA Lead (in Warsaw)
The product we are working on is the biggest community-based navigation app, complex web services, and other solutions related to it. The web and mobile apps handle information at a massive scale and extend well beyond the search giving people and companies a lot of new useful options. As a QA Manager, you will lead a distributed Quality Engineering organization of approximately 50 engineers across multiple teams. You will define the QA strategy, drive operational excellence, lead AI-driven quality initiatives, and continuously improve quality engineering practices across the organization. Working closely with QA Leads, Engineering, Product, and Delivery teams, you will play a key role in scaling quality and engineering excellence.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the QA strategy aligned with business and engineering objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed QA organization, including QA Leads and Quality Engineers.
- Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, testing methodologies, operational efficiency, and testing cycle time.
- Establish and enforce QA standards, quality metrics, KPIs, OKRs, and engineering best practices across teams.
- Lead the adoption of AI-powered testing solutions, automation technologies, and modern QA tools while driving AI capability across the organization.
- Define and execute scalable quality engineering and automation strategies across multiple products and teams.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Delivery leadership to ensure high-quality software releases, manage quality risks, and provide strategic guidance on quality initiatives.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex technical, organizational, and quality-related challenges.
- Own the QA hiring strategy, talent development, succession planning, and organizational growth.
Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and engineering excellence by identifying and implementing new processes and AI-driven improvements.
Requirements
- Location in Warsaw (office-based role)
- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
- 4+ years of experience leading QA teams in a product environment.
- Proven experience managing large QA organizations (20+ engineers), including QA Leads.
- Experience defining QA strategy, organizational standards, KPIs, and scalable quality processes.
- Strong experience driving process optimization and operational excellence across QA organizations.
- Experience defining and executing test strategies and modern Quality Engineering practices.
- Good understanding of AI applications in software testing and a track record of evaluating or adopting AI-driven solutions to improve QA processes.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and software testing best practices.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Fluent English (C1/C2).
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and QA architecture.
- Experience validating AI-based products or LLM-powered applications.
- Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.
- Performance, security, or reliability testing experience.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent.
