About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Python and Splunk to join a long-term international project. You will be responsible for developing secure, scalable backend services while working on enterprise-grade integrations involving Splunk, AWS, Kubernetes, and modern cloud infrastructure.
This role is ideal for engineers with a strong background in backend development, cloud-native applications, and security-focused enterprise environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python 3.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Integrate backend systems with enterprise Splunk solutions and security platforms.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Develop cloud-native solutions using AWS services.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve platform stability.
- Follow software engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of commercial backend engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python 3.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with microservices architecture.
- Basic knowledge of React to collaborate effectively with frontend teams.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services, including:
- DynamoDB
- IAM
- Lambda
- API Gateway
- Strong experience with Redis for caching, session management, and high-availability deployments.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Experience managing deployments with Helm.
Splunk Expertise
Candidates should have hands-on experience with:
- Splunk Secure Gateway
- Spacebridge
- Splunk Mobile deployment
- Dashboard Studio
- Classic Dashboards
- Secure Firewall App for Splunk
- FMC integration
- eStreamer Client Add-On
- Splunk Network Analytics (SNA)
- Splunk HTTP Event Collector (HEC)
Security & Identity
- Experience with SAML 2.0 and Single Sign-On (SSO).
- Experience integrating Identity Providers (IdPs).
- Active Directory attribute mapping and role/group configuration.
- Experience with Duo Single Sign-On and Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
- Experience with AnyConnect Network Visibility Module.
- Experience with Endpoint Security Analytics.
- Strong understanding of enterprise network security, secure backend architecture, and data privacy principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Protocol Buffers (Protobuf).
- Experience with WebSockets for real-time communication.
- Experience with Duo Network Gateway.
- Knowledge of DMZ architecture and secure network design.
- Experience working in enterprise cybersecurity environments.
