Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer

Employment Type: Full-time / Contract
Start Date: ASAP

About the Project

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer (or a small hardware development team) to design and build a new electronic device from the ground up.

The project involves taking a product from the initial concept and architecture stage through hardware design, prototype development, firmware implementation, testing, and validation. The first prototype is expected to be an altimeter-like measurement device, so experience with precision sensing technologies is highly desirable.

This is an opportunity to work on a greenfield product where you will have significant influence over technical decisions, architecture, and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop a hardware product from concept to working prototype.
  • Define system architecture and select appropriate electronic components.
  • Design electronic circuits and multi-layer PCBs.
  • Develop and integrate embedded firmware.
  • Interface with sensors, microcontrollers, and peripheral components.
  • Build, assemble, and bring up prototype hardware.
  • Perform debugging, testing, calibration, and validation of prototypes.
  • Optimize hardware for reliability, performance, power consumption, and manufacturability.
  • Prepare technical documentation, schematics, BOMs, and design files.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in embedded hardware or electronics product development.
  • Proven experience developing hardware products from scratch.
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems architecture.
  • Hands-on experience designing and assembling electronic devices.
  • Strong PCB design experience (Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or similar).
  • Experience with schematic capture and hardware bring-up.
  • Experience developing embedded firmware in C/C++.
  • Experience working with sensors and measurement electronics.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, etc.).
  • Experience validating and testing hardware prototypes.
  • Ability to work independently and drive technical decisions.
  • Professional English communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience developing altimeters or other precision measurement devices.
  • IoT hardware development.
  • Industrial sensor systems.
  • Wearable or portable electronics.
  • Aerospace or aviation hardware.
  • Low-power embedded systems.
  • Wireless communication technologies (BLE, Wi-Fi, LoRa, LTE, etc.).
  • EMC/EMI testing knowledge.
  • Experience preparing products for manufacturing (DFM/DFA).

We Are Looking For

We're seeking someone who enjoys building real products from the ground up and is comfortable owning the entire hardware development lifecycle—from concept and architecture to prototype delivery and validation.

Candidates who have previously designed complete embedded devices and successfully delivered working prototypes will be especially well suited for this opportunity.
