About the role

We're looking for an experienced hardware engineer to own end-to-end flight-control hardware integration across a diverse fleet of drones — from FPV quads to larger autonomous multirotor, fixed-wing, and VTOL platforms. You'll be the person who takes a new airframe from a pile of components to a tuned, flight-ready system: selecting and wiring the flight controller, flashing and configuring ArduPilot or Betaflight, integrating ESCs, sensors, radios, power, and payloads, and tuning it until it flies cleanly.

This is a hands-on, on-site role based in our lab/hangar, spanning the full range from quick R&D prototypes to repeatable production builds. You'll be the hardware integration expert for the team, working independently and setting the standard for how builds are configured, documented, and validated. Success looks like new platforms reaching reliable, flight-ready status quickly — and builds that stay consistent and reproducible from one unit to the next.

• Own end-to-end hardware integration of flight-control systems across multiple platform types (multirotor, fixed-wing, VTOL, FPV).
• Select, flash, configure, and tune ArduPilot (Copter / Plane / Rover) and Betaflight; build and maintain custom firmware targets and board definitions where needed.

Mission
Every month, drones injure and kill thousands of Ukrainians. We build point-defense systems to stop them. Our first product is a hand-launched micro-missile designed to intercept small drones at close range. It's small enough to carry three in a vest and cheap enough for mass deployment. Our goal is to change the battlefield in Ukraine through very high-volume production, then deliver proven systems to NATO.
 

Role summary
We're hiring our first Hardware Technician. You'll work directly alongside the engineering team to build and iterate on prototypes, then help transition them as we scale to high-volume production. As the team grows, you'll help onboard and train the technicians around you.

Expect to relocate to Kyiv soon after joining and work mostly from there, with some time in the UK. You'll work alongside the founding engineering team and incorporate feedback from Ukrainian soldiers in the field. You will not operate near front-line areas. Work in Ukraine is conditional on a stable security situation.

In four months we went from concept to a robust missile prototype — smaller and cheaper than anything comparable, fireable with one hand, reliably intercepting FPV drones. Recent work includes working with the Ukrainian armed forces to go from pre-idea to warhead design, production and live-fire testing in 24 hours; car-mounted missile testing at 200 km/h; building an air cannon in two days then destructively testing 50 missiles to diagnose a hardware issue; and six launches in a single day with design iterations between each.

Що буде вашим фокусом:

• Проектування та модернізація НСК і ретрансляторів: створення нових продуктів та модернізація наявних відповідно до вимог військових та трендів на полі бою;
• Розробка спец-модулів: плати живлення (PCB, BCM), контролери управління корисним навантаженням, модулі ініціації, комутатори та системи перемикання частот;
• Інтеграція та сумісність: налаштування та сполучення різноманітних модулів і комплектуючих (RX/TX модулі, антенні системи для передачі відео та керування);
• Прототипування та лабораторні тести: збірка дослідних зразків, пайка, відлагодження за допомогою осцилографів, аналізаторів спектра, логічних аналізаторів та навантажувальних стендів;
• Проектування та розведення PCB: багатошарові друковані плати від ТЗ до серії з урахуванням вимог до щільності монтажу, EMC/EMI та термоменеджменту;
• Підготовка повного комплекту конструкторської документації: BOM, Gerber, специфікації, інструкції для виробництва та експлуатації;
• Troubleshooting: швидкий пошук та усунення несправностей за результатами випробувань або зворотним зв'язком з фронту.

Що важливо для цієї ролі:

• Від 1-2 років досвіду на позиції Hardware / Electronics Engineer;
• Впевнене володіння Altium Designer або KiCAD для проектування складних плат та адміністрування бібліотек компонентів;
• Розуміння архітектури STM32/ESP32 та цифрових інтерфейсів (CAN, UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, PWM);
• Досвід розрахунку та проектування DC-DC перетворювачів, ключів живлення, систем захисту (OVP/OCP) та роботи з Li-Po/Li-Ion АКБ;
