QA/AQA Competence Manager

Blackthorn Vision is looking for a QA/AQA Competence Manager (part-time) to support the professional growth and competency development of our QA community. In this role, you will participate in technical interviews, drive performance and skill assessment processes, support the development of QA/AQA engineers, and contribute to strengthening quality culture and engineering excellence across the company.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of commercial experience in QA/AQA;
  • 2+ years of experience in leadership, mentoring, or competency development roles;
  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices;
  • Experience with both manual and automated testing;
  • Understanding of test automation frameworks and tools;
  • Experience conducting technical interviews and evaluating QA/AQA candidates;
  • Experience participating in performance review and employee development processes;
  • Ability to assess technical competencies and provide constructive feedback;
  • Understanding of modern QA trends, including AI-driven testing tools and AI-assisted engineering workflows;
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
  • Experience mentoring or supporting less-experienced engineers;
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, HR, Recruiters, and engineering teams;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills;
  • Proactive, people-oriented, and growth-focused mindset;
  • Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English.

     

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in technical interviews and assess QA/AQA candidates’ technical and soft skills;
  • Support and facilitate Professional Performance and Skill Assessment processes for QA/AQA engineers;
  • Provide recommendations regarding employee development, competencies, and career growth paths;
  • Collaborate with managers and team leads to identify strengths and development areas for engineers;
  • Support creation and maintenance of competency matrices and assessment frameworks for QA/AQA specialists;
  • Provide regular feedback to employees and stakeholders;
  • Participate in mentoring and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the QA community;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of QA competency development processes;
  • Support internal talent growth and succession planning initiatives;
  • Promote QA best practices, quality culture, and adoption of modern testing approaches, including AI-assisted QA practices across teams.
