QA Engineer

Own the quality strategy across three React-based frontend experiences and their integration points. Build, maintain, and execute automated and manual test coverage while continuously improving regression reliability as the platform evolves and capabilities are migrated away from Hybris.

Technical Expertise Required

Strong hands-on experience with Playwright for reliable end-to-end testing in complex frontend environments, including:

• Building deterministic E2E scenarios over a GraphQL BFF
• Handling asynchronous application states without relying on fixed waits or sleeps
• Request interception, route mocking, and API stubbing
• Page Object Model architecture, reusable fixtures, and scalable test design
• Debugging flaky tests using traces and CI investigation
• Running parallelized test suites within strict CI execution limits (target: under 15 minutes)
• Experience with Cypress is acceptable as a secondary framework

Additional expectations:

• Creating consumer contracts/pacts from frontend applications
• Implementing accessibility testing using axe-core
• Performing manual accessibility validation with screen readers:
  • NVDA
  • JAWS
  • VoiceOver
  • TalkBack
• Validating keyboard-only navigation and accessibility compliance
• Basic security testing experience:
  • OWASP ZAP baseline checks
  • Network interception validation
  • Ensuring sensitive data is not exposed through URLs
  • CSP validation

  • Return URL/security flow checks

     

Product & Domain Experience

Hands-on testing experience across complex commerce flows:

• Product discovery and browsing
• Product Detail Pages (PDP)
• Cart and checkout journeys
• Order creation and validation
• ASM (assisted selling / shop-as-customer) scenarios
• Variant-level allotment and inventory rules
• Hide-price functionality validation across all frontend surfaces
• Returns and order reversal flows

Experience executing real-device validation, including:

• PRC handheld devices through SOTI-managed browsers
• SSR tablets

• ASM acceptance flows completed on physical devices

   

Background & Qualifications

• 5–8 years of experience in Functional and Integration QA
• Strong experience testing headless React commerce platforms
• Experience validating GraphQL-based frontend integrations
• Previous work with transactional B2B systems where correctness is measured through:
  • Balance changes
  • Financial impact validation

  • Audit trail verification

     

Accessibility experience:

• IAAP WAS certification or equivalent practical accessibility expertise
• Experience supporting real external ADA/accessibility audits

• Ability to go beyond automated scans and identify real usability issues

   

Additional advantage:

  • Rugged device fleets

ISTQB Foundation certification expected.

Ownership Areas

Responsible for:

• Functional and integration testing across three frontend surfaces
• Manual cross-browser validation
• Real-device testing (SOTI/PRC devices, tablets)
• Accessibility testing processes and criterion-based defect tracking
• Regression suite stability and maintenance
• Test reliability and flaky test investigation
• Defect lifecycle management:
  • P0–P3 reporting

  • Verification and retesting

     

Collaboration

Works closely with automation engineers and frontend teams by:

• Using shared personas and tenant test fixtures
• Improving application testability
• Defining stable test identifiers
• Supporting deterministic loading states
• Partnering with engineers to improve overall quality practices
