CAD Quality Assurance Engineer
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
We are looking for an experienced Manual QA Engineer to join our team and ensure the quality of a Windows-based desktop application focused on structural engineering analysis. The product processes 3D design data, applies specialized computational methods to validate structural integrity, and provides analysis, calculations, 3D visualization, and reporting capabilities to support engineering decision-making.
In this role, you will work independently while collaborating closely with a distributed team, contributing not only to manual testing but also to requirements analysis and acceptance criteria definition. You will be involved in ongoing product maintenance and support, including defect fixing, stabilization, regression testing, and incremental improvements.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
At least 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Design Engineer with proficiency in CAD software
3+ years of experience as Quality Assurance Engineer
EDUCATION:
BS or MS in in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, QA methodologies, and best practices
- Proven experience in manual testing of complex desktop applications
- Strong skills in test case design, test planning, execution, and defect management
- Experience with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or similar
- Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
- Basic understanding of 3D visualization and validation concepts
- Hands-on experience with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks) or testing CAD-based systems
- Ability to analyze requirements, define testing scope, and contribute to acceptance criteria
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders
- Upper-Intermediate+ level of English
WILL BE A PLUS:
- Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) principles is a strong advantage
DUTIES:
- Perform manual testing of a Windows-based engineering application with 3D design processing and structural analysis capabilities
- Collaborate with product development, management, and stakeholders to clarify requirements, define scope, and ensure software quality throughout the SDLC
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test cases, test scenarios, and other structured test documentation
- Prepare and maintain reusable test data, including 3D models, CAD/BIM drawings, and other required engineering datasets
- Identify, document, track and verify defects, ensuring proper defect resolution and regression coverage
- Estimate, plan, and coordinate QA efforts for assigned tasks and project activities
- Participate in daily stand-ups, planning sessions, sprint reviews, and other team collaboration activities
- Validate 3D design processing, engineering workflows, and stress-based FEA analysis results
Work independently with minimal supervision, proactively identify quality risks, and suggest improvements to QA processes - Stay updated on industry trends, testing methodologies, and best practices, applying them to improve product quality
