CAD Quality Assurance Engineer
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
As a CAD Quality Assurance Engineer, you will ensure the quality of advanced CAD/BIM software solutions through automation, programming, and continuous quality practices.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to validate complex engineering workflows, develop automated testing solutions, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines, and leverage AI tools to improve efficiency and coverage.
The role requires combining domain expertise in CAD systems with software engineering and quality engineering practices to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- At least 2+ years of hands-on experience as a Design Engineer with proficiency in CAD software
- 3+ years of practical experience in Quality Assurance roles with a strong focus on CAD systems
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
REQUIREMENTS:
Core QA & Domain Expertise
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), QA methodologies, and best practices
- Proficiency in manual testing of complex software systems
- Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
- Working knowledge of at least one CAD/BIM system: Revit, SOLIDWORKS, Creo, CATIA V5, NX, AutoCAD, etc.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Upper-Intermediate level of English
Programming & Engineering Skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, C#, Java, etc.)
- Understanding of programming fundamentals, clean code, and maintainable code structure
Test Automation
- Experience creating and maintaining automated tests and frameworks
- Understanding of test reliability, maintainability, and coverage gaps
CI/CD & Continuous Testing
- Experience working with CI/CD systems (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Ability to analyze pipeline results and distinguish types of failures (test, environment, infrastructure)
AI in Testing
- Experience using AI tools for test generation, debugging, and analysis
- Understanding of AI limitations, validation practices, and safe usage
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core QA Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product development and management teams to ensure software quality
- Conduct QA activities throughout the SDLC in alignment with company policies
- Develop and maintain detailed, structured test documentation
- Prepare reusable test data, including 3D models and CAD/BIM drawings
- Estimate and plan QA efforts for various projects
- Attend daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and sprint reviews
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices
Test Execution & Analysis
- Execute manual and automated tests according to defined strategies
- Perform exploratory testing for complex CAD workflows
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution
- Perform root cause analysis and contribute to defect prevention
Automation & Programming
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test scenarios and supporting code
- Contribute to or extend automation frameworks ensuring scalability and maintainability
- Identify gaps in test coverage and improve automation effectiveness
CI/CD Contribution
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Analyze pipeline execution results and improve failure diagnostics
- Improve reliability, clarity, and usefulness of CI-based test feedback
AI in Testing
- Use AI tools to accelerate test creation, debugging, and analysis
- Validate AI-generated outputs and ensure safe and correct usage
- Apply fallback approaches when AI results are unreliable
Requirements & Quality Consulting
- Participate in requirements analysis and refinement
- Identify ambiguities, risks, and gaps in requirements
- Ensure requirements are testable and aligned with quality expectations
