We are looking for an Automation & Internal Tools Engineer to help us streamline our internal business operations. Instead of abstract “AI engineering,” we need someone who loves writing clean, straightforward scripts, connecting APIs, building simple dashboards, and deploying them reliably. You will use AI (specifically Claude) as a force multiplier to accelerate your development, UI building, and documentation.

Responsibilities
 

• Scripting & Orchestration: Write clean, simple, and straightforward automation scripts in Python or TypeScript. Transition legacy workflows from n8n into our primary orchestration engine, Hatchet.dev.
• Dashboards & UIs: Build and maintain clean, internal dashboards using Next.js / React (leveraging Claude to rapidly generate and iterate on front-end components) to display aggregated data to team members.
• API & Data Integration: Connect 3rd party APIs (e.g., Circleback, Google Sheets, Gemini/Claude) handling basic HTTP authentication, webhooks, and data flow.
• Database Management: Write SQL queries in PostgreSQL to store, manage, and aggregate business data efficiently.
• Cloud Deployment: Deploy, monitor, and debug your solutions on GCP (managing secrets, Cloud Jobs, and Cloud Services).
• AI-Assisted Documentation: Keep a strict habit of documenting what you build, utilizing Claude to help generate thorough, clear internal documentation.

Requirements
 

• Strong Scripting Skills: Professional experience writing clean, maintainable code in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Workflow Orchestration: Experience with automation tools, specifically n8n or code-first orchestrators like Hatchet.
• Web Basics & APIs: Solid understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, authentication mechanisms, and integrating 3rd party services.
• SQL Knowledge: Ability to structure tables, write queries, and handle data aggregation in PostgreSQL.
• Frontend Basics: Experience or comfort with React / Next.js to build simple, functional internal dashboards.
• GCP Experience: Practical knowledge of deploying, debugging, and managing applications on Google Cloud Platform (Secrets, Jobs, Services).
• AI-Fluent workflow: Active use of LLMs (Claude) for code generation, dashboard building, and documentation.
• Communication: Fluent English and a strong habit of documenting work clearly.
