Head of Sales (Payroll Platform)

We are developing an international payroll product that helps companies calculate and pay employee salaries across multiple jurisdictions accurately, on time, and in compliance with local regulations.

The product is demonstrating strong growth, and we are looking for a commercial leader who will build the sales function, establish a partner channel, and take full ownership of the business unit's revenue performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

New Business Acquisition

  • Develop and execute the outbound sales strategy, including ICP definition, outreach sequences, negotiations, and deal closure.
  • Manage the sales pipeline in CRM and prepare weekly forecasts.
  • Ensure a structured handoff of signed clients to the Customer Success team.

Partner Channel Development

  • Identify, negotiate, and onboard strategic partners, including HR consultancies, accounting firms, EOR/PEO providers, and HCM/ERP integrators.
  • Define commercial terms, negotiate SLAs, and launch joint go-to-market initiatives.

Revenue Expansion Within Existing Accounts

  • Identify and execute upsell and cross-sell opportunities together with Customer Success.
  • Own and improve the project's Net Revenue Retention (NRR).

Customer Onboarding Support

  • Provide commercial support during client implementation and remove onboarding blockers.
  • Ensure Time-to-Live does not exceed 45 days from contract signature.

P&L Ownership

  • Manage the business unit's financial model, including revenue, margins, and unit economics.
  • Conduct monthly P&L reviews, quarterly forecasting, and annual budgeting.

Team Building and Leadership

  • Hire and manage the commercial team as the business scales, including SDRs, Account Executives, and Partner Managers.

 

Requirements

Must-Have

  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, growth, or commercial leadership roles within SaaS, FinTech, HCM, Payroll, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of closing deals in international markets.
  • Experience managing a P&L or owning a revenue function.
  • Experience building and managing partner channels.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with global payroll platforms such as Deel, Remote, Rippling, or Papaya Global.
  • Understanding of EOR/PEO operating models.
  • Experience launching and scaling new geographic markets.
  • Experience managing commercial teams.
