We are looking for a detail-oriented Power BI QA Engineer to join our data team. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and reliability of Power BI reports, datasets, and dashboards before they reach end users.
In this role you will work closely with Power BI Engineers throughout the development cycle — validating new features, catching issues early, and ensuring that changes to reports and datasets meet the required quality standards before release. And also with the Support team that collects and passes on issues reported by end users. This means investigating real-world problems, reproducing them, and working with developers to get them resolved efficiently.
This role requires an analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of both data and business logic.

Responsibilities:

• Test and validate Power BI reports and dashboards against business requirements and source data
• Write and execute SQL queries to verify data accuracy at the source level
• Identify discrepancies between report visuals and underlying data models
• Collaborate with Power BI Engineers to reproduce and document bugs
• Maintain test cases, test plans, and QA documentation for BI assets
• Participate in UAT sessions with the Business Analysis team
• Use AI agents and AI-assisted tools to automate repetitive validation tasks, speed up root cause analysis, and continuously improve the efficiency of the test lifecycle
   

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a QA or data quality role, preferably in a BI context
• Strong SQL skills — ability to write queries to trace and validate data end-to-end
• Familiarity with data modeling concepts (star schema, relationships, grain)
• Structured approach to testing with ability to write clear bug reports and test cases
   

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric service — including Warehouses and Data Pipelines
• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools such GitHub Copilot, or other LLM-based tools applied to data and QA tasks
• Basic understanding of prompt engineering
