Quality Lead - AI-Native RD(Ukraine)
We are looking for a strong Quality Lead to own and develop the quality approach within an AI-native R&D organization.
This is not a traditional QA Lead role focused only on testing at the end of the development cycle. The main goal of this role is to build quality into the engineering process from the very beginning - through automation, CI/CD quality gates, code quality checks, observability, production monitoring, and engineering metrics.
The Quality Lead will be responsible for building and leading a Quality function, working closely with Engineering, Architecture, Product, and Platform teams, and ensuring that product reliability, performance, and user experience are maintained at a high standard.
Responsibilities:
- Own and develop quality gates across the software delivery lifecycle
- Build and improve test automation strategy, CI/CD checks, and release verification processes
- Work with code quality and static analysis tools such as SonarQube, SonarCloud, or similar
- Own production quality, including monitoring, production testing, and post-release quality control
- Define and track quality and engineering metrics such as DORA, change failure rate, deployment rework rate, escaped defects, MTTR, and review queue depth
- Create monitoring and observability guidelines for engineering teams
- Partner with Architecture, Engineering, Product, and Platform teams to improve product quality and delivery reliability
- Act as an independent quality voice and be able to block releases or outputs that do not meet quality standards
- Lead, coach, and grow the Quality team
- Support the organization in adopting AI-assisted / agentic development practices from a quality perspective
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience in QA, Software Quality, Quality Engineering, or similar roles
- Experience leading a QA / Quality / SDET team
- Strong hands-on background in test automation, CI/CD, and quality gates
- Experience with code quality tools and static analysis, such as SonarQube, SonarCloud, or similar
- Strong understanding of production quality, release verification, monitoring, and post-release validation
- Experience with observability / monitoring tools such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, or similar
- Good understanding of engineering and quality metrics: DORA, change failure rate, deployment rework rate, escaped defects, MTTR
- Experience working in SaaS or product companies
- Ability to work closely with Engineering, Product, Architecture, and Platform teams
- Strong ownership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills
- Player-coach mindset: hands-on technical credibility combined with leadership skills
- Professional English
- Based in Ukraine or able to work from the Ukraine delivery center
Nice to have:
- Experience with AI-assisted development, agentic coding tools, or AI-generated code review
- Experience with LLM / agent output evaluation frameworks
- Experience with monitoring-as-code, QA infrastructure, or SRE-adjacent practices
- ITSM domain experience
