Automation QA Lead, (Ukraine, only Vinnytsia)

We are looking for an experienced Automation QA Lead to join our team in Vinnytsia and take ownership of the automation testing direction.
This role is ideal for someone who is not only strong technically, but also capable of building scalable QA processes, mentoring engineers, improving test coverage, and becoming a key person around whom a QA automation team can grow.
The main technology stack for automation is Playwright + TypeScript

Responsibilities
 

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of automated test frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript
• Define the QA automation strategy, best practices, coding standards, and testing approach
• Build reliable, scalable, and maintainable automated test coverage for web applications
• Own end-to-end test automation processes, including test planning, implementation, execution, reporting, and CI/CD integration
• Work closely with developers, manual QA engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure high product quality
• Analyze product requirements and identify testing risks early in the development process
• Improve test stability, execution speed, and reporting visibility
• Support release validation and production sanity checks
• Mentor QA engineers and help grow the automation expertise within the team
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and knowledge-sharing activities as the QA automation team expands
• Promote quality ownership across engineering teams
   

Requirements
 

• 5+ years of experience in QA, with strong hands-on experience in test automation
• Proven commercial experience with Playwright
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch or significantly improving existing ones
• Solid understanding of web application testing, API testing, and end-to-end testing approaches
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into the development workflow
• Good understanding of test architecture, test design patterns, and maintainable test code practices
• Experience with Git, Jira, test management tools, and bug-tracking processes
• Ability to analyze requirements, define risks, and translate them into clear test coverage
• Previous experience mentoring QA engineers or leading automation initiatives
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
• English level: Upper-Intermediate or higher

• Experience using AI tools to improve QA, test generation, investigation, or documentation processes
