Description of the role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Android Developer to join a short-term project with an approximate duration of 3 months. The client is a Cambridge-based medical technology company that specializes in advanced solutions for diabetes management.

The Job:
A migration project. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring someone who can quickly become productive, perform code migration, implement comprehensive unit testing, and validate the successful operation of the migrated functionality.

Key Responsibilities:
Migrate Android codebases from AWS Android SDK to AWS Kotlin SDKPerform Java-to-Kotlin migration where requiredDevelop and maintain high-quality, maintainable Android application codeCreate and execute comprehensive unit tests to validate migrated functionalityEnsure application stability, performance, and reliability throughout the migration processFollow best practices for CI/CD, automated testing, and code qualityContribute to technical discussions and architectural decisions where appropriate

Must-have:
5+ years of professional Android development experienceUpper-intermediate or Advanced level of EnglishStrong experience with Android application development using Java and KotlinExperience with AWS Android SDK and/or AWS Kotlin SDKProven experience migrating or modernizing Android codebasesStrong understanding of writing clean, maintainable, and testable codeExperience with unit testing and automated testing practicesExperience with mobile CI/CD tooling, including build and test automationStrong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
Nice to Have:
Experience in healthcare or medical technology environmentsExperience developing Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)Experience working on safety-critical or regulated applications
