We are looking for a Middle Embedded Vision Integration Engineer to build and integrate sensor pipelines for precision turret systems operating under real-time and hardware constraints.

You will work on connecting and synchronizing cameras, rangefinders, and optical sensors into a cohesive embedded platform โ€“ ensuring reliable, low-latency data delivery to targeting and control systems. This role is ideal for an engineer who already has solid embedded Linux experience and wants to grow into full integration ownership, working on hardware bring-up, driver configuration, and pipeline development under the guidance of senior engineers.

You will work directly on defense projects for Ukraine, with a short path from implementation to field testing.

Requirements

Core Technical Skills โ€“ Required

  • 3โ€“5 years of commercial embedded software development.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or similar.
  • Solid Linux embedded development experience (NVIDIA Jetson, ARM SoCs).
  • Proficient in C++14/17; Python for tooling and scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with camera integration: MIPI CSI, USB3, GigE Vision, or RTSP streams.
  • Experience with video pipeline development: GStreamer, V4L2 (DeepStream is a plus).
  • Basic experience integrating rangefinders or other sensors and reading their output at the system level.
  • Understanding of optical systems: FOV characteristics, wide-angle vs. narrow-angle lenses, zoom control interfaces.
  • Familiarity with hardware bring-up and peripheral integration (device trees or kernel modules are a plus).
  • Understanding of real-time constraints, latency budgeting, and system timing.
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision and take ownership of well-defined integration tasks.

 

Will Be a Plus

  • Experience with thermal/IR cameras or night-vision imaging.
  • PTZ or stabilized gimbal integration.
  • IMU integration and sensor fusion basics.
  • ROS/ROS2 experience.
  • Multi-sensor time synchronization (PPS, hardware triggers, PTP).
  • BSP customization or kernel module development.
  • Model deployment pipelines on edge devices.
  • Mission-critical or safety-critical systems experience.
  • Remote telemetry or monitoring tooling.

 

Responsibilities

  • Integrate and configure EO/IR cameras, laser rangefinders, and optical sensors into the turret platform.
  • Build and maintain low-latency video pipelines supporting wide-angle (search/acquisition) and narrow-angle (tracking/engagement) channels.
  • Implement FOV switching logic, inter-channel synchronization, and sensor alignment under senior guidance.
  • Interface with rangefinder hardware and expose distance data to the targeting subsystem.
  • Perform camera calibration and sensor-to-sensor geometric alignment.
  • Collaborate with the CV team to ensure clean, well-timed data delivery to detection and tracking modules.
  • Help integrate sensor outputs with turret control and stabilization systems.
  • Participate in hardware selection and system architecture discussions.
  • Support field testing, debugging, and system maintenance.
  • Contribute to ensuring robustness and reliability of deployed sensor systems under field conditions.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are a solid embedded engineer comfortable working close to hardware, with hands-on experience connecting cameras and sensors and building video pipelines on edge platforms. You can debug interfaces and timing issues, follow integration specs, and are ready to grow into full ownership of the integration layer with the support of senior engineers.
