Lead Java/Kafka Engineer / Relocation to Kraków / Enterprise Cloud Infrastructure

We're hiring a Lead Java Engineer to join a strategic cloud infrastructure initiative focused on building and scaling a Managed Kafka Connect ecosystem for a large-scale managed streaming platform.

Why this role is interesting

This isn't another CRUD application.

You'll work on distributed systems that operate at massive scale, helping productionize and improve Kafka connectors used to move and process critical data across cloud environments.

The team is responsible for integrating, optimizing, and launching first-party connectors including:

• Apache Iceberg Sink
• Debezium MySQL Source
• Debezium MongoDB Source
• SQL Server CDC Source
• Spanner CDC Source
• Bigtable Sink
• BigQuery connector enhancements

The work spans distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, performance optimization, reliability engineering, CDC technologies, load testing, and production readiness.

Your impact

As a Lead Engineer, you'll help shape technical direction and engineering practices while remaining hands-on.

You will:

• Lead architecture and design discussions
• Mentor engineers and support technical growth
• Drive delivery of complex distributed systems components
• Improve scalability, performance, and reliability
• Collaborate with product and engineering stakeholders
• Participate in launch readiness, operational reviews, and production support planning
