WindowKits is the manufacturing and solutions arm of Insulate Ukraine, one of Ukraine's fastest-growing charities working in the construction and humanitarian shelter space. With over 80,000 window installations across Ukraine's frontline communities, we design, prototype, and scale solutions that deliver immediate, measurable impact to people living in damaged and destroyed housing.

## The Role

We are looking for a hands-on CAD Designer and Prototyping Engineer to join our growing product team. You will take ownership of the design and development of WindowKits' product range — from initial concept through to scaled manufacturing — working across CAD modelling, rapid prototyping, and production scale-up.

This is not a desk-only role. You will have direct field experience, seeing your designs installed and tested in real conditions, and the autonomy to iterate and improve based on what you learn.

## What You'll Do

• Design and develop window and shelter components in 3D CAD (FreeCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or equivalent)
• Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for manufacturing partners
• Build and test physical prototypes using 3D printing and other rapid prototyping methods
• Collaborate with field teams to understand installation requirements and constraints
• Identify design improvements based on field feedback and performance data
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to take designs from prototype to scaled production
• Maintain and develop a library of standard components and assemblies
• Contribute to thermal performance analysis and optimisation of window and frame designs

## What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in CAD design (any major platform)
• Comfortable working from engineering drawings and toleranced specifications
• Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping workflows
• Ability to translate field problems into practical, manufacturable solutions
• Strong attention to detail and a pragmatic, get-things-done mindset
• Comfortable working remotely and managing your own workload
• Interest in humanitarian or construction contexts a strong plus
