Senior Backend Engineer (Java)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join a fast-growing product company and help build scalable backend services, core platform capabilities, and new product features used by customers worldwide.

As part of a highly collaborative engineering team, you will take ownership of backend solutions from design to production, contribute to architectural decisions, and help ensure the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Java.
• Build and deliver end-to-end features and new platform capabilities.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineering teams.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical decision-making.
• Ensure service reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Participate in on-call rotations and production support activities.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• Strong experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and web services.
• Solid understanding of Linux-based environments.
• Experience working in Agile development teams.
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven mindset.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience building and scaling highly available applications.
• Hands-on experience with caching technologies such as Redis or Memcached.
• Experience with messaging systems (RabbitMQ or similar).
• Familiarity with reactive frameworks such as Spring WebFlux or RxJava.
• Experience with Kafka, Spark, or other streaming/data-processing platforms.
• Experience with parser generators such as ANTLR or JavaCC.
