Role Description
Build, secure, and evolve the cloud infrastructure powering Cloverpop’s Decision Intelligence, Forecasting and AI platforms. You'll own day-to-day operations and have a clear path to shape how the function grows from here.
Why This Role Matters
Cloverpop currently operates a substantial production footprint on Heroku, alongside a growing set of AWS-native services and infrastructure.
As our systems and enterprise workloads continue to grow, we need a hands-on infrastructure engineer to:
- Bring our AWS footprint into a fully managed, IaC-driven state
- Strengthen security posture and evolve SOC2 coverage as the platform grows
- Modernize CI/CD and environment provisioning across both platforms
- Reduce infrastructure spend as workloads grow
- Partner on architecting the next phase of our platform
This is a high-ownership role with direct impact on operations, developer experience, and platform evolution. You'll work alongside R&D, Engineering, and QA across all of it.
What You'll Work On
Build & automate
- Bring existing AWS resources under OpenTofu/Terraform management
- Improve CI/CD pipelines across GitHub Actions and Heroku
- Build dynamic provisioning for ephemeral environments
- Contribute to internal automation and DevEx tooling
Run & operate
- Manage production infrastructure across Heroku and AWS
- Maintain test, staging, and production environments
- Help optimize compute, memory, and database-intensive forecasting workloads
- Analyze infrastructure spend and identify cost reductions
Secure & govern
- Extend SOC2 compliance practices to our AWS footprint
- Improve access controls, secrets management, and auditability
- Shape infrastructure choices: performant, cost-efficient, and compliant
How you will grow
You're joining as Cloverpop's first full-time infrastructure hire. This role anchors the infrastructure, platform, and reliability work across the company, supporting the technical teams without becoming an ivory tower. Our goal is that this position eventually leads that work as it grows.
You'll have real exposure to architectural decisions, compliance work, and cross-team collaboration.

- Experience with CI/CD systems and deployment automation
- Strong Linux, networking, and systems troubleshooting skills
- Strong scripting and automation skills
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and partnering with engineers who own parts of their own infrastructure
Nice to Have
- Experience migrating systems from one provider to another
- Exposure to AWS AI/ML infrastructure patterns (SageMaker, GPU EC2)
- Container orchestration experience (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes)
- Experience building internal platform tooling
- Experience building developer-facing tooling or self-service workflows
