Senior Mechanical Engineer
We design and manufacture handheld medical and dental devices in Israel: curing lights, dental handpieces, wound-care instruments. We take projects from concept to production and we do the hard parts ourselves. We are hiring one excellent mechanical engineer to work with us remotely, full-time, on a long-term B2B contract.
You will own the mechanical side of our projects end to end: concept CAD, DFM decisions, production drawing packs, prototypes and physical testing, working directly with our CTO and our electrical engineer.
This is not an execution role. We are not looking for someone to build models to a specification. We are looking for someone we can hand an unfinished problem to, who comes back with a solution and with the questions we forgot to ask. If your honest description of your career is "I was told what to do and I did it, and I did it well", this role will make you unhappy. That is not a criticism, it is a different job.
You need:
- 4+ years professional mechanical engineering. Less is fine if your portfolio is strong.
- Expert SolidWorks
- Real DFM instinct for injection-moulded plastics and CNC aluminium: draft, parting lines, gates, sink, warp, wall thickness, tolerance stacks
- GD&T fluency, production-ready drawings
- Electronics literacy. You do not design the PCB, but you understand it and can integrate it mechanically.
- English B2 or above. We work live on video, and you will need to disagree with us in English.
- Hands-on: you build and test prototypes yourself
Medical device experience is a plus, not a requirement. Precision plastics work from automotive, consumer electronics or appliances transfers well.
We provide: all prototype parts and courier costs both ways, a 3D printer if you do not have one, a SolidWorks licence, all travel, and a long-term monthly B2B contract.
