Automation QA Engineer (Mobile) iOS/Android

About the Role:

You will be joining a team building a secure, privacy-focused communication platform designed for organisations where data protection, control, and regulatory compliance are mission critical. The product provides encrypted messaging, voice, and video communication built on a zero-trust security architecture with strong end-to-end encryption. It supports flexible deployment models — including on-premise and controlled cloud environments — and is used by security-sensitive and regulated organisations to protect confidential communications and maintain full data sovereignty.

As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for building and maintaining automated test coverage across iOS and Android, ensuring the reliability and integrity of features where quality is not just a standard — it is a compliance requirement.

What You Will Work On:

• Designing, writing, and maintaining automated test suites for iOS and Android mobile applications using Appium and Java;
• Covering encrypted messaging, voice/video calling, file sharing, and meeting features with automated scenarios;
• Developing and maintaining test frameworks and reporting pipelines with TestNG and Allure;
• Integrating automated tests into CI/CD workflows via GitLab pipelines;
• Managing test cases and documentation in Testiny; tracking defects in Jira;
• Collaborating with developers and product managers throughout the full QA cycle;
• Leveraging Claude for AI-assisted test generation and QA workflow optimization.

Required Skills:

• 2+ years of QA automation experience with a strong focus on mobile testing (iOS and Android);
• Solid hands-on experience with Appium for mobile test automation;
• Proficiency in Java for writing and maintaining automated test scripts;
• Experience with TestNG as a test framework;
• Allure for test reporting and result visualization;
• Jira for bug tracking and task management;
• Testiny for test case management;
• GitLab — CI/CD pipelines, MR workflows, test integration;
• Claude — AI-assisted tooling in QA workflows;
• English level: Intermediate+ or higher (written and spoken).

Nice to Have:

• Experience testing security-sensitive, privacy-focused, or compliance-driven products (HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.);
• Familiarity with zero-trust security concepts or end-to-end encryption;
• Experience testing real-time communication features: VoIP, video calls, WebRTC;
• Basic API automation skills (REST Assured or similar);
• Understanding of cross-device and cross-platform compatibility testing strategies.
