Middle Frontend Engineer

Cyber Harbor is a fast-growing Ukraine-based company founded by engineers and researchers who helped defend critical cyber infrastructure during the war. 

We’re building high-impact products that process and visualize real-time data in critical domains. As a Middle Frontend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping how users interact with this data - through clean interfaces, responsive design, and thoughtful user experiences.

You’ll work closely with a senior frontend engineer, designer, PM, and QA to deliver production-ready features using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS. Your work will involve both rebuilding existing services for clarity and usability and developing entirely new features for evolving products.

This role is for someone who doesn’t stop until the logic and user flow make perfect sense. You’ll be expected to ask deep questions, and negotiate with the team to deliver quality interfaces that serve real users - transparently, securely, and fast.

What You Will Do

• Work with React + TypeScript stack (Next.js, Redux Toolkit, Emotion / Styled Components, Tailwind).
• Integrate with REST APIs and work with real-time data via WebSockets and polling.
• Maintain clean, scalable, and secure code while considering performance and bundle size.
• Work closely with designers to clarify UI/UX expectations, ask the right questions, and ensure perfect execution.
• Handle sensitive data responsibly and follow secure frontend engineering practices.
• Participate in migration to a new design system.

What You Need to Join Us

• Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of the React lifecycle and application structure.
• Hands-on experience with Redux Toolkit, REST API integrations, and component-based architecture.
• Familiarity with real-time data flows using WebSockets or polling
• Experience collaborating in small cross-functional teams and participating in feature planning.
• Basic awareness of frontend security hygiene (e.g., safe storage of access tokens, validation, XSS awareness).
• Attention to detail and a mindset focused on completeness, clarity, and responsibility.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of SSR and modern bundlers (Vite, Next.js)
• Exposure to design system development or custom UI libraries
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions)
• Ability to reason about performance, loading times, and rendering strategies
