REQUIREMENTS

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong backend expertise (Python, Node.js, Go, Java, etc.)
• Strong frontend expertise (React + TypeScript)
• Strong infrastructure knowledge using GCP (optional AWS, Azure)
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers on a team
• Proven ability to design and deliver scalable full-stack systems
• Solid understanding of APIs, databases, and cloud infrastructure.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience in healthcare or regulated environments (HIPAA, FHIR, HL7)
• Experience with data-heavy applications (analytics, time-series)
• Familiarity with AI/LLM integrations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Team Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead a cross-functional web team (backend + frontend engineers + AQA + design)
  • Own delivery of features end-to-end: from design to production
  • Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and set quality standards
  • Collaborate closely with product, design, and clinical stakeholders

  Architecture & System Design

  • Design and evolve a scalable full-stack architecture
  • Define clean API contracts and data models
  • Ensure maintainability, performance, and reliability across the stack
  • Guide decisions on system structure (modular services, integrations, etc.)
  • Oversee development of:
    • REST APIs for patient data and clinical workflows
    • Time-series data handling (body composition metrics)
    • Background processing and data pipelines
  • Ensure efficient querying, caching, and data integrity
  • Ensure efficient use of GCP-native capabilities.

  Frontend & User Experience

  • Guide development of data-heavy React applications
  • Ensure clear, performant, and intuitive visualization of complex medical data
  • Align frontend architecture with backend capabilities

  Healthcare & Compliance

  • Ensure secure, HIPAA-compliant data handling
  • Implement proper authentication, authorization, and audit logging
  • Support integrations with external systems (EHRs, pharmacy services)

  Performance & Scalability

  • Optimize backend and frontend performance (queries, rendering, data loading)
  • Design systems that scale with growing users and datasets

  Backend & Data Systems

  • Oversee development of:
    • REST APIs for patient data and clinical workflows
    • Time-series data handling (body composition metrics)
    • Background processing and data pipelines
  • Ensure efficient querying, caching, and data integrity
  • Ensure efficient use of GCP-native capabilities.
