Cloud Data Engineer (GCP)

We are looking for a Cloud Data Engineer (GCP) to lead client-facing enterprise projects while owning our core internal analytics engine. You will design scalable cloud data solutions for external clients while directly shaping Cloudfresh's internal business intelligence.
Role Overview
Client Solutions & Consulting (~70%): Architect enterprise GCP data platforms, build production pipelines, and participate in technical discovery, live demos, and solution scoping for clients.
Internal BI & Financial Analytics (~30%): Own Cloudfresh’s internal data environment—building automated pipelines and executive Looker dashboards to model our financial and operational performance.
Requirements
- Languages: Native/fluent Ukrainian and B2+ English.
- Core GCP Stack: 3+ years in Data Engineering with deep hands-on experience in BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and BigQuery ML.
- ETL/ELT Engineering: Proven experience with Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, or Dataform for optimizing data pipelines.
- Data Modeling & Analytics: Proficiency in Looker / Looker Studio, with a knack for turning complex data into clear financial and operational metrics.
- Code & Querying: Advanced SQL (performance tuning, cost optimization) and Python (API integrations, scripting).
- Integration Experience: Comfortable integrating data across APIs, relational databases, NoSQL, and SaaS platforms.
- Client Communication: Natural ability to translate business requirements into technical architectures and deliver confident demos to client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Design and build modern data platforms for enterprise clients working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- Build, maintain, and optimize internal financial and operational analytics pipelines in BigQuery and Looker.
- Collaborate with the team during discovery phases to provide technical expertise, live demos, and solution scoping.
- Continuously monitor and tune BigQuery cost, scalability models, and ETL pipeline performance.
- Run workshops and deliver technical presentations to stakeholders to define and refine data architectures.
- Identify and explore new GCP features and modern AI tools to streamline analytics operations.
