Senior Manual Backend QA Engineer

Project Overview

This position is focused on quality assurance for backend-driven platforms that handle large volumes of manufacturing and machine-generated data used in operational and analytical processes.

The engineering team is actively delivering a set of high-priority initiatives centered around core system capabilities, including:

• computational logic on the backend
• processing and handling of structured and unstructured files
• transformation and enrichment of data
• generation of manufacturing-related reports
• development and support of analytical features and tooling

The scope of this role is heavily backend-oriented, with minimal to no focus on UI testing. The QA activities will primarily involve:

• validating backend services and APIs
• ensuring correctness and consistency of stored and processed data
• verifying the accuracy of complex calculations
• testing file ingestion and processing pipelines
• assessing end-to-end analytical data flows

Required Technical Expertise

Candidates should bring:

• Strong command of technical English for professional communication
• 5+ years of experience in manual quality assurance
• Strong expertise in backend and system-level testing
• Hands-on experience with data-heavy or processing-intensive platforms
• Solid understanding of SQL and database validation techniques
• Ability to design comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases
• Experience tracking QA progress, coverage, and reporting metrics
• Strong analytical mindset for defect investigation and root-cause analysis
• Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments

Working Environment

The role is performed in a remote-first setup, typically using remote desktop or server-based environments for system access and testing activities.
