Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for a strong Senior Backend Engineer to join our team.

This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you will work closely with researchers and engineers to turn prototypes, scrapers, and data pipelines into scalable production systems. You will take ownership of projects end-to-end - from design and implementation to deployment and maintenance - while helping build infrastructure that powers large-scale data and intelligence systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend systems and data pipelines
• Transform research prototypes into production-grade services
• Work with large datasets and high-throughput systems
• Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers across the team
• Take ownership of system design, architecture, and technical decisions
• Ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability of services
• Improve engineering workflows using AI/LLMs and automation tools

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience (Python, JavaScript, or similar)
• Proven experience building and operating production SaaS systems
• Strong background in high-scale systems and large datasets
• Ability to independently lead and deliver complex projects end-to-end
• Experience designing scalable architectures and data pipelines
• Strong problem-solving skills and a builder mindset

• Comfortable integrating AI tools / LLMs into development workflows

• Experience in fast-paced startup environments
• Experience with reverse engineering or low-level system analysis
• Web application security testing experience
• Active participation in CTF competitions
• ETL pipeline design and implementation experience

• Backend: Python / JavaScript (Node.js) or similar

• Datastores: PostgreSQL, Redis
• Experience with distributed systems and data-intensive architectures
