Design System Lead / Design Ops (Remote)

Our client is looking for a Design System Lead / Design Ops Specialist to help build an AI-friendly design system for an AI-first coaching platform.

This role sits at the intersection of product design, design systems, and AI-assisted prototyping. You will help create reusable UX patterns, scalable components, and structured documentation that improve collaboration between designers, engineers, and AI tools.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain a scalable Figma design system

Define reusable components, variants, tokens, layouts, and interaction patterns

Create clear and AI-friendly documentation for modern AI-assisted workflows

Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to transform product flows into reusable UI patterns

Improve consistency between design and frontend implementation

Support rapid prototyping for dashboards, onboarding flows, feedback systems, and learning experiences

Establish Design Ops processes including naming conventions, governance, QA, versioning, and component adoption

Requirements

4+ years of experience in UI/UX, Product Design, Design Systems, or Design Ops

Strong expertise with Figma: components, variants, auto-layout, variables, design tokens, and prototyping

Experience building or maintaining design systems for complex digital products

Ability to simplify complex product logic into scalable UX patterns

Understanding of design-to-code workflows and collaboration with frontend engineers

Interest in AI-assisted design workflows and modern prototyping tools

English — Upper-Intermediate or higher

Nice to Have

Experience with AI products, gaming, coaching platforms, educational products, analytics systems, or complex dashboards

Familiarity with tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Figma MCP, v0, Lovable, Framer, Webflow, or Storybook

Basic frontend knowledge (HTML, CSS, React, Tailwind)

Experience creating structured documentation for both humans and AI systems

Interest in strategy games or skill-based products
