Senior Backend Lead Engineer - .NET / C# / Azure

Remote | Full-time  | ASAP start

We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack / Backend Lead Engineer to join a near-launch HealthTech product focused on nutrition and healthier shopping decisions for the US market.

This is an existing product (18+ months in development), not a greenfield project. We need someone who can quickly understand an existing architecture, take ownership of the backend, and help drive the product through launch.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the existing backend architecture
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and workflows
• Work with complex product and nutrition data
• Support integrations with external data providers
• Manage product scoring and recalculation logic
• Work with Azure-based infrastructure and databases
• Support receipt-processing and purchase-tracking workflows
• Collaborate with mobile developers and distributed teams

• Make pragmatic technical decisions in a fast-moving environment

   

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with .NET and C#
• Solid backend development expertise
• Experience working with existing production codebases
• Strong SQL and NoSQL knowledge
• Experience with Azure backend systems
• Experience designing APIs and backend workflows
• Strong architecture and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal onboarding

• Experience supporting production or near-production systems

   

Nice to Have

• HealthTech / Nutrition / Retail / Grocery domain experience
• Barcode scanning or receipt-processing systems
• Scoring / recommendation engine experience
• React or React Native experience
• Startup or scale-up background

• Experience joining rescue or replacement projects
