Lead QA Engineer (Web/Mobile, Healthcare)
About the project
A multi application healthcare ecosystem for a UK based client: web, mobile, APIs, and shared services. The client is moving from reactive manual QA toward a structured quality practice across pods. Long term, remote, with overlap on UK business hours.
Requirements (Mandatory)
3+ years of commercial QA experience, including a Lead role.
Proven experience setting up QA processes from scratch in pod or squad based teams.
Hands on testing of web and mobile (iOS and Android).
Experience defining regression strategy across multiple interconnected applications.
Experience leading or mentoring a distributed QA team across more than one stream.
Experience auditing existing automation and producing an automation roadmap.
Confident with test management tools (TestRail, Testiny, Xray or similar) and Jira defect workflows.
API testing skills (Postman, Charles, Proxyman).
Strong stakeholder communication with CTO, Engineering Manager, and Product.
English: B2+, confident written and spoken.
Will be a plus
UK or EU client experience in healthcare or regulated domain.
Hands on Playwright automation.
CI/CD integration of automated suites.
Responsibilities
Own QA strategy and roadmap across the multi application estate.
Embed in one pod for hands on testing alongside the strategic remit.
Define QA governance: standards, Ready for QA and Done criteria, release gates, sign off.
Lead and mentor QAs across pods; ensure consistent practice.
Design and own the regression framework and execution cadence.
Audit existing automation and define the phased automation strategy.
Recommend and roll out test management tooling with full traceability.
Coordinate cross application releases and act as single QA escalation point.
Publish monthly QA report and per release readiness report.
