Senior AQA Engineer with JS

On behalf of our Client, a well-established financial institution from the Caribbean region, Mobilunity is looking for a Senior AQA Engineer for a long-term engagement.
Our Client is the largest bank in the Caribbean region that serves 14 countries/territories. The aim is to transform the organization from a traditional bank into a modern fintech institution, working on the edge of what current fintech can offer.
The Senior AQA Engineer will play a key role in establishing and scaling automated testing practices across digital products. Working closely with the AQA Tech Lead and development teams, this role focuses on improving test coverage, framework quality, and CI/CD integration to ensure high software quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Automation
 

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests for web and API layers
• Translate user stories and acceptance criteria into reliable automated test cases

Framework & Tooling
 

• Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of automation frameworks
• Research and introduce tools and best practices to improve test efficiency

CI/CD & Quality Gates
 

• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with platform teams to optimize test execution in deployment flows

Reporting & Defect Management
 

• Analyze test results and report quality status to stakeholders
• Identify, track, and support resolution of defects

Collaboration
 

• Work closely with AQA Tech Lead, developers, and product teams
• Share automation knowledge and promote testing best practices

Requirements:
 

• Proven experience as an Automation QA Engineer
• Strong experience with API testing
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright
• Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript
• Experience with web automation testing
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Nice to Have:
 

• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
• Background in banking or financial services
• Experience with WebdriverIO or similar modern automation tools

Key focus for the search:
We are looking for a Senior AQA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in automation testing using Playwright and TypeScript / JavaScript.
The ideal candidate should have solid experience with:
 

• Playwright automation
• TypeScript or JavaScript
• API testing
• Web automation testing
• CI/CD integration, preferably GitHub Actions
• Building or improving automation frameworks
• Working closely with developers and AQA/QA leads

Banking or fintech experience would be a strong plus, but the main priority is strong technical expertise with Playwright + TS/JS and the ability to contribute to framework quality and automation coverage.
