We are looking for an IP Legal Manager to lead our online brand protection practice.
This is a management role at the intersection of intellectual property, copyright, legal operations, domain takedown, team management, and process automation. The main goal is to build and manage a scalable process for removing brand-abusing domains.
This is not a classic in-house legal role. We need a person who can manage cases, lead a team, improve processes, control quality, and turn legal/operational workflows into clear systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full domain takedown process from case creation to final result.
- Lead a team of 4โ5 specialists: assign tasks, review work quality, control deadlines, and improve performance.
- Prepare, review, and improve complaints related to copyright, trademark.
- Communicate or supervise communication with third-paries providers.
- Analyze domain cases together with the team.
- Build and improve internal SOPs, complaint templates, checklists, escalation routes, and quality-control processes.
- Create clear tasks for automation.
- Work with product/development teams to improve internal tools and reduce manual work.
- Track key metrics: processed domains, successful removals, response time, removal time, pending cases, team productivity, and complaint quality.
- Identify bottlenecks in the process and improve the system until it becomes predictable and scalable.
Requirements
- Legal background & corresponding experience in intellectual property, copyright, trademark, brand protection, legal operations, DMCA, or online enforcement.
- Experience managing a small team or coordinating legal/operational workflows.
- Understanding of how hosting providers, registrars, CDN providers, and abuse departments process complaints.
- Strong written English for legal complaints and business communication.
- Ability to work with technical domain data and basic website analysis.
- Strong organizational and process-management skills.
- Ability to create clear instructions, templates, SOPs, and automation tasks.
- Experience working with developers, product managers, CRM systems, trackers, or internal automation tools.
- Attention to detail and ability to work with high-volume cases.
- Result-oriented mindset: focus on removals, speed, quality, and team efficiency.
Will be a plus
- Experience with domain takedowns, anti-piracy, iGaming, affiliate marketing, SEO, or online brand protection.
What we expect from this role
- A clear and controlled domain removal process.
- A well-managed team with measurable results.
- Higher success rate of domain removals.
- Faster processing and escalation of cases.
- Better complaint quality and evidence preparation.
- Improved internal templates, workflows, and automation logic.
- Less manual chaos, more structured legal operations.
This role is not for you if
- You want a purely advisory legal role without operational responsibility.
- You do not want to manage people and processes.
- You are not comfortable working with technical domain data.
- You are not ready to work with automation, trackers, SOPs, and measurable KPIs.
