Senior Scala Engineer - Fintech, Typelevel Stack

Project Overview

Web-based investment platform making smart investing accessible to a broader audience. You will join the IT Development department, working closely with business stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain key business applications and services. The role combines strong engineering craft with architectural input and close collaboration with Product and Engineering Lead.

Tech Stack: Scala · Kafka · Cats-Effect · Doobie · Akka / Pekko · Kubernetes · AWS · CI/CD

Requirements (Must-have):

• Strong hands-on experience with Scala — production level
• Fluent English — written and spoken
  
  Responsibilities:
• Contribute to software and architectural design decisions in close collaboration with the team
• Write efficient, reliable, clean, and thoroughly tested code for a CI/CD environment
• Work with Engineering Lead and Product Manager to design upcoming projects
• Research and evaluate new approaches and technologies when needed
  
  Nice to Have:
• Kafka and Kafka Streams experience
• Typelevel stack — Cats-Effect, Doobie
• Akka / Pekko toolkit — Http and Streams
• Microservices architecture and event streaming systems
• Kubernetes and AWS knowledge
• Experience with Extreme Programming values and principles
• Background in financial services systems
• Experience in remote-friendly distributed teams
• Agile methodologies — principles and ceremonies
