Shopify Developer (AI-First)

We're a growth agency working exclusively with subscription CPG brands on Shopify. We're hiring a developer who is equally obsessed with Shopify and AI-assisted development. Not a Shopify dev who tolerates AI. Not an AI tinkerer who happens to know Liquid. Both, in equal measure.

You should be the person who reads Shopify changelogs the day they drop, knows why metaobjects changed how theme architecture works, and has opinions about JSON templates vs. sections-everywhere. You should also be the person who has built their own agents, refined their own prompt libraries, and can show how AI has compounded your output month over month.

What you'll do:

• Build and maintain custom Shopify themes for subscription CPG brands
• Deliver sections, components, and full theme builds on aggressive timelines
• Wire up Klaviyo, Skio, Recharge, and Intelligems inside theme code
• Contribute to our internal boilerplate (Skeleton base, Alpine.js, BEM, no build step)
• Own QA via Loom walkthroughs and clean handoffs

The Shopify obsession looks like:

• Deep fluency in Liquid, JSON templates, sections, blocks, and metaobjects
• Strong Alpine.js or vanilla JS, comfortable without a build step
• Hands-on experience with Skio or Recharge selling plans, line item properties, cart and storefront APIs
• Opinions on theme architecture, performance budgets, and merchant-friendly schema design

The AI obsession looks like:

• Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent is your primary dev surface, not autocomplete
• You write specs and let agents draft code, then review, tighten, and ship
• You've built your own prompt libraries, slash commands, sub-agents, or MCP integrations for repetitive Shopify work (section scaffolding, schema generation, Liquid + Alpine glue, theme migrations)
• You can show, with receipts, how AI has multiplied your throughput in the last six months
• If your first instinct on a new section is "I'll just write it by hand," this isn't the role

Nice to have:

• Klaviyo template work, Intelligems test setup, Cloudflare Workers, contributions to internal tooling or agents
