Operations and Project Manager (AI-native startup)
Location: Remote. You must overlap at least 4 hours a day with EU working hours. Our core team is in Spain and Portugal.
Reports to: the operating co-founder (CEO), working daily with the other co-founders on M&A and the platform.
About GetDeal
GetDeal sells companies (sell-side M&A) and raises capital for startups. We run a live deal platform and active client mandates. The company is AI-native: a small founding team works with a fleet of AI agents that run from one shared operating system. The agents prepare daily priorities and reports, track client commitments and deal pipelines, and run research and outreach. People set direction, make decisions and are accountable for the result.
Why this role exists
Each client mandate, fundraising campaign and internal initiative is a project with a scope, deadlines, commitments to counterparties, a budget and several people and agents doing the work. Right now the founders hold these projects together themselves. We need one person who runs them as projects: who owns what, by when, at what cost, what is at risk. That person tells us early when something is slipping.
What you'll own
- Run every workstream as a project: scope, plan, owners, milestones, budget, risks, definition of done. Keep a status that anyone can read in a minute.
- Manage people. Assign work to founders, contractors and outside partners (lawyers, designers, freelancers), follow up and unblock, and hold the deadline.
- Own the budget lines you run: tools, contractors, campaigns. Plan them, track actuals, and flag variance before it turns into a problem.
- Track client delivery. Contract milestones and commitments to sell-side and fundraising clients are met, and nothing is promised without an owner.
- Own the operating rhythm. Run daily priorities and the weekly review, and turn every internal call into tracked tasks the same day.
- Direct the AI agents. Give them clear briefs with acceptance criteria, review what they produce, and decide what is good enough to reach a client. You are the one who checks.
- When something keeps repeating, turn it into a documented process the next person or agent can run.
What you bring
- 3+ years in project, delivery or operations management where the work ran as projects. You can walk us through specific projects: the scope, the team, the timeline, the budget, and what actually happened.
- You have managed people: a team, contractors or cross-functional stakeholders, with personal accountability for their deadlines and quality.
- You have owned a budget: planned it, tracked actuals, explained the variance.
- Project thinking by default. Given any goal, you break it into scope, milestones, owners, risks and a definition of done, even when nobody asked for a plan.
- Daily hands-on work with AI, beyond chat. You have delegated real work to AI agents or automations (for example Claude Code, Cursor, ChatGPT or Claude with tools, n8n, Make, Zapier). You can show one workflow you built and explain how you checked its output.
- Fluent written and spoken English for work with international clients and partners.
Nice to have
- M&A, investment banking, venture or B2B SaaS.
- GitHub Issues, Linear, Jira or similar trackers; comfort with Markdown and basic scripting.
- PMP, PRINCE2 or Scrum certification, as a complement to real delivered projects.
- Russian, Ukrainian or Spanish.
