Senior Java Backend Engineer (Java + Spring Boot + AWS)

Project Overview
Enterprise backend engineering role within a Pan-Baltic banking environment. The engineer will build and maintain cloud-native backend services on AWS, working to high standards of code quality, system reliability, and operational stability across the organization.

Tech Stack
Java 17/21, Spring Boot, REST APIs, AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch), CI/CD

Requirements (Must-have)
- 7+ years of practical Spring Boot development experience
- Fluent English B2+ — required for Pan-Baltic communication (spoken and written)
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 17+ / Java 21 including modern language features
- Strong experience with RESTful API design, implementation, and integration
- Proven application of clean code principles and automated testing
- Strong understanding of SOLID, KISS, YAGNI design principles
- Experience with cloud-based and distributed systems, AWS in particular
- Hands-on experience with AWS: Lambda (Java runtime), API Gateway, CloudWatch
- Strong CI/CD practices and monitoring/operational stability techniques

Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain backend services using Spring Boot
- Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrations
- Work with AWS serverless and cloud infrastructure (Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch)
- Apply clean code principles and write maintainable, well-tested code
- Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and monitoring practices
- Ensure operational stability and system reliability in a distributed environment
- Apply SOLID, KISS, and YAGNI principles across the codebase

Nice to Have:
- Experience in banking or financial services domain
- Familiarity with compliance and security standards in enterprise environments
