DevOps Engineer

Contract details: Duration - 6 months (with the possibility of extension for a further six months), Start Date - 04.05.2026, Project language - English.

Project: SportsEngine, part of Versant Media, is a leading provider of Sport Relationship Management (SRM) software that powers youth and recreational sports organizations across the United States. The platform supports registration, scheduling, payments, communication, and operations for sports organizations and their communities.
SportsEngine’s products support highly distributed systems used by more than 100 million users, requiring scalable, reliable infrastructure and modern cloud operations practices.
 

SportsEngine is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join its growing Operations team, which currently consists of approximately 5–10 engineers responsible for maintaining and improving the infrastructure that powers multiple large-scale products. This role will work closely with primarily US-based engineering teams while helping expand SportsEngine’s global operations capabilities. The ideal candidate is practical, reliable, and comfortable operating across several
distributed systems, with strong experience in AWS infrastructure and Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code practices.
 

Key Responsibilities:
● Manage and improve cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS
● Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and secure
● Support infrastructure powering high-traffic distributed applications
● Design, implement, and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure
● Maintain reusable and modular infrastructure components
● Improve automation and reduce manual infrastructure management
● Monitor and maintain production environments
● Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents
● Support uptime and operational stability across multiple products
● Work closely with developers to improve deployment workflows
● Support CI/CD processes and release operations
● Provide guidance on infrastructure and performance optimization
● Operate across several distributed platforms and services
● Ensure infrastructure consistency across environments
● Maintain operational visibility across multiple systems

Required Qualifications:
● 4+ years of DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure experience
● Strong experience with AWS cloud infrastructure
● Strong hands-on experience with Terraform
● Experience managing production systems at scale
● Experience supporting distributed systems and cloud-native architectures
● Monitoring, reliability, and operational support
● CI/CD and deployment automation
● Troubleshooting infrastructure and production issues
● Comfortable collaborating with US-based teams
● Reliable and proactive communicator
● Comfortable working across multiple products and teams
