Architect / Tech Lead DevOps (Platform, AI Focus)

We are looking for aт Architect / Tech Lead with strong DevOps and Platform Engineering expertise to join a high-scale, product company.

This role combines system-level architecture, hands-on engineering, and team leadership, with a strong focus on accelerating infrastructure delivery using AI tools.

You will play a key role in building a new high-performance DevOps capability aimed at reducing infrastructure delivery time, particularly for complex, client-specific on-premise environments.

Responsibilities
Design and evolve multi-layer infrastructure architecture
Lead architecture decisions for on-prem and hybrid environments
Drive AI adoption in DevOps workflows: code generation for IaC, automated integrations with APIs and services
Lead and mentor a high-performance DevOps team
Design and implement scalable Kubernetes-based platforms
Own CI/CD architecture (GitLab, self-hosted)
Define best practices for: zero-downtime migrations, replication strategies (DB, services), DNS switching strategies
Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience
Oversee monitoring, logging, alerting (self-hosted stack)
Work closely with product and engineering teams on complex system design
Identify bottlenecks and optimize delivery speed

Key Challenges
Adapting infrastructure to strict client constraints (geo, hosting, compliance)
Supporting fully on-prem environments (no cloud-first shortcuts)
Managing complex microservice ecosystem (~50 services)
Delivering zero-downtime migrations in production
Reducing infrastructure setup time from weeks/months → days

Requirements
6+ years in DevOps / Infrastructure / Platform Engineering
Proven experience in architectural and leadership roles
Strong hands-on expertise with: Kubernetes (on-prem + cloud), Docker / containerd, Linux (Debian/Ubuntu), virtualization (KVM, LXC)
Deep understanding of distributed systems & microservices
Experience with complex on-prem infrastructure
Strong experience with: GitLab CI/CD (self-hosted), Infrastructure as Code (Python-based or similar)
Solid knowledge of: networking (L4/L7, Nginx), load balancing, database replication (MySQL / Percona XtraDB Cluster)
Experience with high-load / mission-critical systems

AI Expectations:
Hands-on experience using LLMs for engineering tasks
Ability to:  generate and adapt infrastructure code, speed up integration with new APIs/services
Understanding limitations of AI and ability to review and validate generated code
Experience improving engineering efficiency using AI tools
