Senior React Native Engineer / Tech Lead

We are hiring a Senior React Native Developer / Mobile App Owner to take full ownership of an existing mission-critical React Native app (pure React Native, no Expo) used daily at scale.

The primary focus is refactoring and stabilizing the application while continuing to deliver new features.

This role requires full ownership of the mobile domain - including architecture, releases, app store management, production issues, and long-term code quality.

Due to the scale and real-time nature of the product, candidates must already have strong hands-on experience (no learning on the job).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own the mobile app end-to-end (iOS & Android): development, releases, monitoring, and maintenance
• Refactor and stabilize a complex, production-grade codebase
• Design and implement offline-first architecture (local storage, sync strategies, conflict resolution)
• Build and maintain geolocation/GPS functionality, including background updates and permissions
• Integrate and work with native modules when needed (Swift/Kotlin or bridging)
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of the app
• Integrate REST APIs and real-time data flows
• Ensure high release quality with proper testing and regression prevention
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders while acting as the primary mobile owner

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must Have

• 5+ years of mobile development experience, including 3+ years with React Native
• Strong experience with pure React Native (no Expo)
• Proven experience building offline-first mobile applications
• Hands-on experience with geolocation/GPS, including background behavior
• Strong debugging skills in complex, legacy codebases
• Experience delivering and maintaining apps on both iOS and Android
   

Strong Technical Foundation

• TypeScript and modern React patterns (hooks, modular architecture, state management)
• Deep understanding of React Native lifecycle and platform differences
• Experience integrating REST APIs and real-time updates
   

Nice to Have

• Experience with native development (Swift/Kotlin)
• Familiarity with push notifications (Firebase, FCM, APNs)
• Experience with E2E testing tools (Detox, Appium)
