This position is with a US-based software company providing custom development and AI implementation for North American clients. The team builds and maintains production software, including AI-enabled systems, and works in long-term client engagements. Team members operate as part of an internal, distributed team and collaborate directly with client stakeholders.

About the role:
We are looking for a Python Backend Developer to join a distributed team building and maintaining production software for US-based clients. You will work on real systems, collaborate directly with client stakeholders, and contribute to AI-enabled solutions in a long-term engagement.

What you will do:

• Build and maintain web applications using Python, Django, and FastAPI - production code that's clean, testable, and built to last.
• Develop backend systems, integrate third-party APIs, and support frontend teams with reliable endpoints.
• Work with AWS infrastructure: S3, Lambda, EC2, EventBridge, DynamoDB.
• Implement security measures and handle data protection thoughtfully.
• Debug production issues, optimize performance, and keep systems running smoothly.
• Follow industry trends and bring new ideas to the table when it makes sense.

What we are looking for:

• Proven Python experience - real projects you've shipped, not just learned.
• Strong command of Django or FastAPI (ideally both).
• Solid grasp of OOP principles, design patterns, and how to apply them in practice.
• Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs and integrating web services.
• Comfortable working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB).
• English communication skills - B1 level.
• Ability to solve problems independently, write clear code, and communicate well with teammates.
• Takes responsibility for their work and doesn't need constant oversight.

Nice to have:

• Experience with AI prompting.
• Familiarity with LangChain or LangGraph.
