PHP/WordPress Engineer
We're seeking a skilled Frontend Engineer to join the internal product team of a fast-growing tech company. You'll play a key role in building embeddable web solutions and SDK-style products used across external platforms and partner integrations. If you're excited about creating scalable Web Components and solving complex frontend architecture challenges while working with modernized WordPress ecosystems — this role is for you.
Core Competence:
• 2–5 years of commercial frontend development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Web Components, including Custom Elements and Shadow DOM in production environments.
• Deep understanding of slots, lifecycle callbacks, attribute reflection, and CSS scoping inside Shadow DOM.
• Practical experience building SDKs or embeddable products such as widgets, chats, forms, or media players integrated into third-party websites.
• Understanding of challenges specific to embeddable products, including CORS, CSP, CSS/JS conflicts with host applications, versioning, and backward compatibility.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript for daily development.
• Strong knowledge of PHP and commercial experience with WordPress development.
• Experience developing or integrating custom WordPress themes, plugins, or backend functionality.
• Experience with modern build tooling such as Vite, Rollup, or esbuild.
• Understanding of tree-shaking, bundle size optimization, and frontend performance best practices.
• Solid knowledge of Fetch API, async/await, and modern browser APIs.
• Experience working with Git and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or similar.
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to scalability and maintainability.
• English level sufficient for reading technical documentation and writing technical README/documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Lit or Stencil (or willingness to quickly learn Lit).
• Familiarity with map technologies such as MapLibre GL, Mapbox, Leaflet, or Google Maps.
• Understanding of geocoding and geospatial queries.
• Experience with accessibility best practices, including ARIA and keyboard navigation.
• Experience implementing i18n and multilingual interfaces.
• Familiarity with testing tools such as Vitest or Playwright.
• Experience publishing npm packages and working with CDN infrastructure (CloudFront, Cloudflare, etc.).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience modernizing or extending legacy WordPress-based platforms.
