Senior QA in Data Engineering

We are seeking a QA Engineer to own end-to-end quality assurance across our client data and reporting platform. Healthcare domain.

Responsibilities:

• Review and interpret requirements from multiple sources: Jira stories, Confluence documentation, BRDs, email threads, and stakeholder conversations
• Translate requirements into well-structured test cases covering happy paths, edge cases, and negative scenarios
• Participate in sprint planning and refinement sessions to flag testability concerns and ambiguous acceptance criteria early
• Perform data-layer validation against SQL Managed Instance in Azure: verify pipeline outputs, staging tables, transformation logic, and aggregations
• Perform presentation-layer validation in Power BI: verify measures, visuals, filters, slicers, and report behavior against expected data
• Execute UAT-level testing in a staging environment that mirrors production data and report structure
• Validate ADF (Azure Data Factory) pipeline runs: confirm correct data ingestion, transformation, and load behavior, including error and retry scenarios
• Coordinate with developers and flag regressions before UAT sign-off
• Log, triage, and track defects in Jira with clear reproduction steps, expected vs. actual results, and severity ratings
• Partner with developers and analysts to investigate root causes and validate fixes
• Produce QA summary reports for sprint reviews and release approvals

Qualifications Required:

• 5+ years in a QA or data validation role, ideally within a BI, analytics, or data engineering context
• Proficiency in SQL: comfortable writing complex queries to validate data in relational databases (Azure SQL / SQL Managed Instance experience is a plus)
• Familiarity with ETL or data pipeline concepts 
• Experience working in agile/scrum teams using Jira and Confluence
• English: Upper intermediate

Nice to Have

• Experience with test automation for data pipelines
• Hands-on experience testing Power BI reports or equivalent BI tools (Tableau, Looker, SSRS)
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into deployment workflows
• Experience testing ERP-adjacent data  or CRM integrations
• Scripting ability in Python for test harness development
