Senior Full-Stack Engineer (React+Java)

We’re building a new team focused on the Document Intelligence product - specifically the layer where users review, correct, and interact with extracted data.

Tech stack

• Frontend: React (hooks, component architecture, state management)
• Backend: Scala or Java (21+) - microservices, REST APIs
• APIs: REST + GraphQL
• Cloud: AWS (S3, ECS, API Gateway)
• Database: PostgreSQL
• Styling: CSS / SCSS

What you’ll work on

• Building the UI for document review and data correction workflows
• Designing clean, responsive interfaces for handling structured and semi-structured data
• Integrating with backend services that power document extraction
• Improving how users interact with and correct AI-generated outputs
• Contributing to both frontend and backend parts of the system

What we’re looking for

• At least 5 years of commercial experience
• Strong experience building applications with React - component architecture, hooks, state management
• Solid backend experience with Scala or modern Java
• Good understanding of API design and integration (REST / GraphQL)
• Experience working with AWS-based systems
• Confidence with PostgreSQL (data modeling, queries)
• Experience with OAuth 2.0 / OIDC
• Habit of writing tests (TDD mindset)
• Ability to design usable UI without relying heavily on a designer

Engineering Practices

• Experience working in agile / scrum teams with two-week sprint cadence
• Strong communication skills for async team collaboration – Slack
• Comfort working asynchronously across time zones with distributed teams
• Proficiency with GitHub - branching, pull requests, code review workflows
• Familiarity with cloud-native deployment patterns

AI-Assisted Development (important)

• Strong hands-on experience using Claude AI or GitHub Copilot for software development tasks
• Proven ability to leverage AI for frontend development, backend development, and test authorship
• Experience integrating AI-assisted development workflows into engineering processes
• Familiarity with prompt engineering practices for code generation and review
