Technical Product Manager β Mobile Subscription Payments
We are looking for a strong Technical Product Manager with deep hands-on expertise in payment processing for mobile subscription businesses.
This role is for someone who truly understands the full payments lifecycle behind recurring billing: card onboarding and binding, authorization flows, decline recovery, chargebacks, fraud patterns, subscription payment routing, merchant setups, PSP/acquirer differences, and payment performance optimization.
You should be the kind of person who has already worked closely with mobile subscription products and knows where revenue is lost, why chargeback rates grow, how payment funnels break, and what can be improved technically and operationally.
What you will do
- Analyze payment flows for mobile subscription merchants
- Identify bottlenecks in approval rates, card binding, recurring charges, retries, and recoveries
- Work on chargeback-related logic, risk factors, and reduction strategies
- Compare payment performance across providers, setups, and processing approaches
- Help shape products/services around payment analytics, payment optimization, and chargeback reduction
- Translate business needs into technical requirements for internal teams and partners
- Communicate with PSPs, acquirers, processors, and merchants when needed
What we expect
- Strong product management background in payments, ideally for mobile subscriptions / recurring billing / app monetization
- Deep understanding of chargebacks, dispute drivers, friendly fraud, monitoring thresholds, and operational pain points
- Solid knowledge of card binding / tokenization / vaulting / recurring billing mechanics
- Strong grasp of payment funnels: authorization, routing, retries, soft/hard declines, MID-level issues, and processor behavior
- Ability to speak both business and technical language
- Comfortable working with payment data, metrics, and performance analysis
- English β professional working proficiency
Nice to have
- Experience with subscription-based mobile products, direct response, or high-volume card processing
- Experience working with multiple PSPs/acquirers
- Understanding of risk, fraud, and retention mechanics in subscription businesses
