Platform Engineer โ Oracle DBA
We need an experienced Oracle Database Engineer who is comfortable owning complex, mission-critical environments and is ready to play an active role in modernising an enterprise data platform toward Azure and Microsoft technologies.
What this role is about
This is a hands-on Oracle-focused role with real technical depth and forward-looking scope. You will design, implement, and support core Oracle database environments while contributing to a gradual shift toward Microsoft and Azure-based platforms. It is not purely operational โ you will have genuine influence over platform architecture and the direction of a broad, evolving data estate.
What you will actually do
Design, implement, and support enterprise-scale Oracle database environments
Own high availability, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and resilience across Oracle platforms
Support Oracle directory and identity services, including Oracle OID and OVD
Automate database operations through scripting, tooling, and replication
Collaborate with managed service providers and professional services partners to deliver and support Oracle services
Contribute to database architecture and platform design with security, performance, and scalability in mind
Support Microsoft SQL Server environments including SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS
Contribute to data warehousing solutions and ETL/ELT processes
Support and advise on Oracle-to-Microsoft and Azure migration initiatives
Build hands-on exposure to cloud database services including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and MongoDB Atlas
What you bring โ essential
Strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Oracle databases
Solid grasp of Oracle performance, resilience, and security
Experience working with managed service providers or delivery partners
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and related BI tooling
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT pipelines
Practical, automation-first approach to database operations
Interest in or exposure to cloud database platforms, particularly Azure
Intermediate to advanced certification in Oracle, database, or cloud technologies
ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management experience
Nice to have
Oracle-to-Microsoft migration project experience
Azure-native database services and public cloud deployments
Modern data warehousing architectures
BI and data consumption platforms
