We need an experienced Oracle Database Engineer who is comfortable owning complex, mission-critical environments and is ready to play an active role in modernising an enterprise data platform toward Azure and Microsoft technologies.

What this role is about

This is a hands-on Oracle-focused role with real technical depth and forward-looking scope. You will design, implement, and support core Oracle database environments while contributing to a gradual shift toward Microsoft and Azure-based platforms. It is not purely operational โ€” you will have genuine influence over platform architecture and the direction of a broad, evolving data estate.

What you will actually do

Design, implement, and support enterprise-scale Oracle database environments

Own high availability, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and resilience across Oracle platforms

Support Oracle directory and identity services, including Oracle OID and OVD

Automate database operations through scripting, tooling, and replication

Collaborate with managed service providers and professional services partners to deliver and support Oracle services

Contribute to database architecture and platform design with security, performance, and scalability in mind

Support Microsoft SQL Server environments including SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS

Contribute to data warehousing solutions and ETL/ELT processes

Support and advise on Oracle-to-Microsoft and Azure migration initiatives

Build hands-on exposure to cloud database services including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, and MongoDB Atlas

What you bring โ€” essential

Strong hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting Oracle databases

Solid grasp of Oracle performance, resilience, and security

Experience working with managed service providers or delivery partners

Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and related BI tooling

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT pipelines

Practical, automation-first approach to database operations

Interest in or exposure to cloud database platforms, particularly Azure

Intermediate to advanced certification in Oracle, database, or cloud technologies

ITIL Foundation or equivalent service management experience

Nice to have

Oracle-to-Microsoft migration project experience

Azure-native database services and public cloud deployments

Modern data warehousing architectures

BI and data consumption platforms

Why this role stands out

You will work with large-scale Oracle environments that genuinely matter to the business, while also shaping where those platforms are heading. It is a rare combination of deep operational ownership and real architectural influence โ€” with structured support to grow your skills across Oracle, SQL Server, and Azure along the way.
