About the Product:

We are developing a cutting-edge AI tool that enables non-technical users—product managers, designers, executives—to generate production-ready software features without writing code. The platform ingests tickets, designs, screenshots or text prompts and produces high-quality code aligned to existing repositories and design systems. It runs automated validation agents under the hood to mimic developer workflows, integrates with CI/CD pipelines, and delivers pull requests ready for review. Operating at scale across a distributed user base, the product adapts weekly to new AI models and must maintain reliability, performance and security in a dynamic environment. Strong engineering is critical to ensure quality, rapid iteration, and customer satisfaction as the system evolves.

About the Role:

As Senior Automation Engineer you will own the end-to-end quality and reliability of an AI-driven software delivery platform. You will design and build the core automation infrastructure from scratch, implement and maintain test suites, integrate them into CI/CD pipelines, and continuously evolve frameworks to keep pace with weekly model updates and feature releases. Working as a one-person QA team, you will diagnose failures, perform manual testing when needed, and provide in-depth root cause analysis for development teams. This role offers full ownership, deep technical challenges around web automation, AI-driven features, and on-call responsibilities to resolve urgent customer issues. You will have the opportunity to shape QA best practices and directly impact the quality of an evolving AI product in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain end-to-end automation infrastructure from scratch
• Develop Playwright test suites in TypeScript for web application workflows
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and version control processes
• Diagnose test failures, perform root cause analysis and coordinate fixes
• Collaborate with developers to define test requirements and improve code quality
• Maintain and update test frameworks to accommodate new AI models and features
• Perform manual testing for critical features and edge cases as needed
• Manage on-call rotation, respond to urgent production issues outside standard hours
• Optimize test coverage, reliability and performance for AI-powered code generation

Required Competence and Skills:

• Minimum 5 years of professional test automation experience
• At least 3 years of hands-on Python development
• Proven track record of designing and building automation infrastructure from the ground up
• Expert proficiency with Playwright and TypeScript for web application testing
• Solid understanding of front-end frameworks (e.g., React, TypeScript) and web architecture
• Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD workflows and Git-based processes
• Developer-level debugging, problem-solving skills and root cause analysis
• Strong SQL knowledge and backend fundamentals beyond ORM usage
• Fluent English verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take full ownership in a one-person QA team
• Experience in fast-paced startup or product-driven environments

Nice to Have:

• Experience testing large language model (LLM)-based systems
• Familiarity with additional AI development tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor)
• Prior manual testing experience for complex web applications
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS
