Senior Full Stack Engineer (Python / React / AWS) - AI-Accelerated Development

Adwisely is an Ad Tech SaaS on Shopify that helps e-commerce businesses run profitable ads on Meta and Google. Our product vision: an AI agent that manages ad spend, optimizes ROAS, and delivers results — so merchants can focus on their business, not their ad accounts.

We're looking for a senior engineer to take real ownership of the product and help us ship the next version of the platform — not as a ticket-taker, but as the technical co-owner of what we build and how we build it.

What you'll own

• AI-assisted development infrastructure. You'll own the system that lets our team ship fast with AI. That means: expanding our CLAUDE.md with real coding conventions, building Claude Code skills and hooks, setting up CI quality gates (linting, formatting, automated tests), and creating the pre-merge workflow so AI-generated PRs pass review on the first try. This is your highest-impact work in the first month.
• AI-native product experience. Store intelligence that analyzes a merchant's data, scores products by predicted ROAS, and drives every recommendation the platform makes.
• Shopify-deep integration. Adwisely should live where merchants already work: Shopify admin, Sidekick, Flow — not as a separate dashboard they forget about.
• Platform reliability and UX improvements. Bulletproof onboarding, ROAS optimisation, clearer performance visibility.
• Quality at every stage. You own QA as part of the delivery process, not as an afterthought. That means writing specs that include test cases, reviewing AI-generated diffs for correctness, and building end-to-end tests for critical paths.

How we work

We build with AI-assisted development. Our primary tool is Claude Code with a custom CLAUDE.md, project-specific skills, and pre-commit hooks. You'll extend and improve this setup.

The workflow is: write a tight spec, generate an implementation plan (reviewed by you before coding starts), generate the implementation with Claude Code, pass automated quality gates, and ship. You'll be the person who makes this workflow reliable — so that PMs can independently deliver features at high quality.

You'll work directly with the company founders. No PM layer, no sprint ceremonies. Team: 2 PMs, 1 senior dev, 1 part-time dev. Small team, high ownership, no bureaucracy.

This role is for you if...

• You have 5+ years with Python and React in production
• You have hands-on experience with AWS: EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, or similar services
• You're comfortable owning the full stack: React frontend, Python backend, cloud infrastructure
• You've worked with at least one of: Shopify APIs, Meta Marketing API, Google Ads API
• You're used to being the primary engineer and making architectural calls without a lot of hand-holding
• You can move between support and feature work without losing momentum
• You've used Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot in production — and you have opinions about where AI helps and where it doesn't
• You treat QA as part of shipping, not a separate phase. You write tests, review diffs carefully, and don't merge what you haven't verified
• You're excited about building the dev process itself, not just building features within one

Nice to have

• Experience building or maintaining Shopify apps (ours is built on Remix)
• Familiarity with LLM API integration (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini)
• Any background in ad tech or performance marketing
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, or developer tooling
