Ruby on Rails Developer + React to $2500

We are looking for a Strong Junior / Middle Ruby on Rails Developer to join a client project focused on a CRM system for law firms, covering client management, cases, finances, and analytics. The system includes a significant amount of legacy code, with ongoing improvements, refactoring, and feature development.

There is also an opportunity to contribute to other projects based on workload and team needs.
 

Required skills, experience, and knowledge

• Strong experience with Ruby on Rails
• Experience working with and maintaining legacy systems
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, SQL
• Understanding of REST APIs
• Experience with RSpec (testing basics)
• Basic experience with frontend (jQuery / React or similar)
• Understanding of OOP, SOLID, DRY, KISS principles
• Experience working in a team environment
• Upper-intermediate or higher English level

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using Ruby on Rails
• Work with and gradually improve legacy codebase
• Implement new features and support existing functionality
• Write clean, maintainable code following team standards
• Participate in code reviews and testing (RSpec)
• Collaborate with the team and client on ongoing tasks and releases
• Contribute to planning and estimation within the team

Project workflows

• Daily standup with the tech team;
• Scrum workflow;
• Business hours — 10 am-7 pm Kyiv time.
