Senior Data Engineer / Data Analyst $$$

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer / Data Analyst to become a key link between data and product decisions. You will work with transactional data from a payment platform, build reliable analytics infrastructure, and turn raw data into business insights for C-level and the product team. This role combines deep technical data work (pipelines, DWH, modeling) with product analytics (approval rate,
fraud patterns, A/B tests). The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing optimized SQL queries and explaining complex patterns to a non-technical audience.

What you will do

🔹 Data Engineering

• Build and maintain DWH for transactional data
• Develop ETL/ELT pipelines (dbt / Airflow / scripts)
• Design data models (fact/dimension tables)
• Ensure data quality, monitoring, and performance optimization

🔹 Product & Business Analytics

• Analyze key metrics:
  • Approval / Decline Rate
  • Chargebacks / Refunds
  • Fraud patterns
  • PSP performance
• Build dashboards (Metabase / Tableau / etc.)
• Run A/B tests and analyze product changes
• Deliver insights to product and leadership

🔹 Routing & Fraud Analytics

• Analyze routing efficiency
• Identify fraud patterns (velocity, geo, BIN)
• Propose improvements for routing logic

🔹 Collaboration

• Translate business needs into data solutions
• Communicate insights clearly to non-technical teams

• Proactively identify anomalies and opportunities

   

Requirements

🔹 Must-have

• Strong SQL (complex queries, optimization)
• Experience with PostgreSQL / ClickHouse / BigQuery
• Python for analytics (pandas, numpy)
• Experience with dbt / Airflow (or similar tools)
• Experience with BI tools (Metabase, Tableau, etc.)
• Understanding of A/B testing and statistics
• 3+ years in Data Analyst / Data Engineer role
• Experience with transactional / financial data

🔹 Nice to have

• Experience in fintech / PSP / acquiring
• Fraud analytics experience
• Kafka / streaming
• Understanding of PCI DSS / GDPR
